Trong suốt thời kỳ hành giả làm đệ tử nhập môn thì công việc Chân sư thực hiện thật rất thú vị. Y được cho vào những lớp học đặc biệt do các đệ tử cao cấp hơn hướng dẫn, dưới sự giám sát của Chân sư. Và dù y có thể tham dự những lớp chung, có tầm mức rộng rãi hơn, trong Đạo viện (tức là Phòng giáo huấn của Chân sư) y vẫn được huấn luyện chuyên sâu hơn………. Trong những giai đoạn đầu, Chân sư làm việc theo bốn lối chính:—
During the period wherein a man is an accepted disciple the work done by the Master is of very real interest. The pupil is assigned to special classes conducted by more advanced disciples under the supervision of the Master, and though he may attend still the larger general classes in the Ashram (the Master's hall for teaching) he is subjected to a more intensified training……….The Master works in the earlier stages in four main ways:—
a. Thỉnh thoảng, và khi người đệ tử tiến đến mức đủ điều kiện, Ngài mới “đem đệ tử vào Tâm Ngài.” Đây là một cách phát biểu nội môn nói về một kinh nghiệm rất thú vị mà người đệ tử sẽ có. Vào lúc kết thúc một lớp học trong đạo viện, hoặc trong một buổi tham thiền đặc biệt thành công (khi người đệ tử đạt nhịp rung động nhất định), Chân sư sẽ đưa y lại gần Ngài, từ ngoại vi hào quang của Ngài vào đến trung tâm ý thức của Ngài. Nhờ đó Ngài giúp y tạm thời triển khai tâm thức thật rộng lớn, và có thể rung động theo nhịp độ phi thường (đối với y).
a. At intervals, and when the progress of the pupil justifies it, He “gathers the pupil to His Heart.” This is an esoteric statement of a very interesting experience to which the pupil will be subjected. At the close of some class in the ashram, or during some specially successful meditation wherein the pupil has reached a certain rate of vibration, the Master will gather him close to Himself, bringing him from the periphery of His aura to the centre of His consciousness. He thereby gives him a tremendous temporary expansion of consciousness, and enables him to vibrate at an unusual rate for him.
Vì thế, cần phải tham thiền. Phần thưởng của kinh nghiệm đó còn quan trọng hơn bất cứ nỗ lực khó nhọc nào trong công việc.
Hence the need for meditation. The reward of such an experience far outweighs any of the strenuous parts of the work.
b. Chân sư dùng màu sắc để ảnh hưởng đến các thể của đệ tử, mang lại một số kết quả nơi chúng, để cho y có thể tiến bộ nhanh hơn. Giờ đây, các bạn sẽ thấy tại sao……. tôi đã chú trọng rất nhiều đến màu sắc. Không chỉ vì màu sắc nắm giữ sự bí mật của hình thể và cuộc biểu hiện (sự bí mật mà huyền bí gia phải hiểu) mà tôi đã nhấn mạnh như thế để người đệ tử có thể cộng tác một cách hữu thức với
b. The Master works upon the bodies of his pupil with colour, and brings about results in those bodies that enable the pupil to make more rapid progress. Now you will see why……so much emphasis is laid upon colour.
